A house that sleeps thirty-six is a different proposition from three houses that sleep twelve. Nobody drives anywhere at the end of the evening, the kitchen is where people end up, and the ones you came to see are the ones you actually see.

These are the largest houses in the portfolio — twelve of them, from six bedrooms up to seventeen, sleeping between twelve and thirty-six. Delgado Estate in Indian Wells is the biggest, seventeen bedrooms and twenty bathrooms; Chateau Dumont in Rancho Mirage takes thirty across fifteen. They sit across Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, La Quinta and Indio, so the question is usually which part of the valley you want to wake up in, rather than whether anyone has to share.

Two things worth knowing before you fall for one. At this size bathrooms matter as much as bedrooms, and several of these run close to one each — which is what stops a big house feeling like a hostel by the third morning. And a few of the largest take monthly bookings only, so if you are planning a week, check the minimum stay on the house itself before you plan around it.

If what you have in mind is an event rather than a stay — a ceremony, a party with guests who are not sleeping over — talk to us first. What a house sleeps and what a house is permitted to host are two different things, and the cities here are strict about the difference.
