760 201 1009Sequins after sunset, a favorite song on the dance floor, and the first coffee of the year somewhere you actually want to linger. New Year’s Eve in Palm Springs can be a big night of live music and midnight fireworks, a dressed-up dinner with an early toast, or an unhurried evening at the house with the people you came to see.
Start by choosing the kind of night you want, then find the home that makes the rest of the stay feel as good. Here is what is planned across Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City for December 31, 2026, with ideas for dinner, a private chef at the house and a slow New Year’s Day.
The three Agua Caliente casinos share a theme this year, Pop Royale, with a different party at each. They are in three cities, so pick one and stay put.
For a countdown under the palms, the Outdoor New Year’s Eve Celebration is downtown at 401 East Amado Road. Doors open at 7 p.m., Eevaan Tré & The Show play at 8, Liquid Blue take over at 10, and the fireworks go up at midnight, with DJ Toast keeping the party going afterward. There are food trucks and a beer garden.
Tickets are $59 for general admission and $169 for premier general admission, through the casino’s Ticketmaster link. Have dinner first, bring a warm layer for the outdoor countdown, and book the ride home before you go.
For a night built around dancing, KC and the Sunshine Band with special guest Village People play The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive. A DJ starts at 7 p.m., Village People take the stage at 8 and KC and the Sunshine Band at 9.
Seats run from $79 in the balcony to $149 in the front rows of the orchestra, four tickets at most per order. After the headliners, the Million Dollar Band plays free inside The Show from 11 p.m. and again after midnight, which is a separate thing from a concert ticket, so check what yours covers.
The Plaza Theatre’s New Year’s Eve celebration is an early show, at 5 p.m. Lucie Arnaz sings standards, Broadway and pop, from Gershwin to Manilow, with Ron Abel as musical director, and her family joins her on stage: her husband, Laurence Luckinbill, and their children, Joe and Kate Luckinbill.
The theatre is at 128 South Palm Canyon Drive, in the middle of downtown, so dinner is a short walk away. The theatre does not list a running time, so leave a comfortable gap before your reservation. Tickets are through the theatre’s own listing.
At Agave Caliente Terraza, Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City has Earth to Mars – The Bruno Mars Experience, with Brobots. Doors open at 7 p.m., Brobots play from 8 to 10, and Earth to Mars, a Bruno Mars tribute act, follow.
General admission is free: standing room, high-top tables at the back and limited seating, first come, first served. If your group wants to sit, a premium seat with two drink tickets is $29.99, and lounge seating for six with bottle service is also listed.
The Brothers of the Desert New Year’s Eve Gala runs from 5 to 10 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Golf Resort Palm Springs, 67967 Vista Chino in Cathedral City. The theme is The Essence: Dandyism Meets Harlem Renaissance, so getting dressed is half the fun.
The evening has a cocktail hour, dinner, entertainment and dancing, and a Champagne toast at 9 p.m. to ring in the new year on East Coast time. Proceeds go to the organization’s scholarship fund for Black and LGBTQ+ students in the Coachella Valley. Early-bird tickets are $175 a person or $325 a couple, rising to $200 a person later in the season; check the current price on the organizer’s ticket page.
A long dinner can be the whole celebration. Most restaurants post their New Year’s Eve menus in December, and the good tables go quickly, so decide early where you want to be at midnight and book around it. Our Palm Springs restaurant guide is a good place to start; ask each restaurant about seatings, the set menu and whether a toast is included.
Farther down the valley, La Quinta Resort & Club has announced a December 31 celebration with dinner, live music, dancing and a midnight Champagne toast, and has posted New Year’s Eve menus for Morgan’s in the Desert, Twenty6 and Adobe Grill. More details are still to come, so check back before you book.
Then there is the night where everyone gets ready at their own pace, dinner happens around one table and nobody has to cook. Desert Luxury Estates’ concierge services include private chefs and grocery pre-stocking. Ask about a New Year’s Eve menu for your stay; menu, service, price and holiday availability are confirmed ahead of time.
Make it personal: everyone brings one favorite memory from the year, the playlist is chosen together, and dessert is worth lingering over. With children, a 9 p.m. toast to the East Coast new year gives them a midnight of their own without the wait. Sparkling juice, a few written wishes for 2027 and breakfast ready for the morning do more for the mood than a big party plan.
Keep the evening to the people staying at the house, within its occupancy and quiet-hours rules, and check with us before inviting anyone else.
Choose the night first, then the home.
Ask about the things that make the holiday: a dining table that seats everyone, a kitchen a chef can work in, and somewhere comfortable to gather indoors once the sun goes down.
The reward for a good New Year’s Eve is a morning with nothing on the schedule: good coffee, citrus, warm pastries and an easy conversation about the year ahead. Have breakfast waiting, let everyone wake up when they wake up, and save the outing for a walk or a late lunch.
If you can, arrive a day or two before December 31 so the holiday starts with time to settle in. Many places keep holiday hours on January 1, so check before heading out. If you are coming for Christmas too, our Christmas in Palm Springs guide covers the first half of the holidays.
New Year’s Eve is Thursday, December 31, 2026, and New Year’s Day is Friday, January 1, 2027. Events promoted as “ringing in 2027” are the same night.
At Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs, downtown, as part of its ticketed outdoor celebration: fireworks at midnight, with tickets from $59. Staying nearby does not guarantee a view from the house, so if the fireworks matter, go.
Yes. Earth to Mars, a Bruno Mars tribute, with Brobots at Agua Caliente Casino Cathedral City has free general admission, with standing room and limited seating on a first-come basis. Paid seats are available if you want a guaranteed spot. The Million Dollar Band also plays free at The Show in Rancho Mirage late in the evening.
Dinner at the house, games, sparkling juice and a 9 p.m. toast to the East Coast new year make a memorable family night. Ask us about a private chef or having groceries waiting. For a public event, check its age rules before buying tickets for children.
Yes. Private chefs are part of our concierge services. Tell the team your group size, the kind of menu you like and your dates, and we will confirm availability and price for your home.
Tell us who is coming and how you want to spend the night. We will help you find the home, arrange a chef if you would like one, and leave January 1 wide open.
Plan your New Year’s stayEvent details checked November 6, 2026 against the organizers’ own listings: Agua Caliente Casinos, the Palm Springs Plaza Theatre, Brothers of the Desert and La Quinta Resort & Club. Prices are the organizers’ posted prices before fees; lineups, times and admission rules can change, so confirm with the venue before you buy.
